JEE MAINS Pattern Released



This time, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced some changes in the Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE Main) 2020 exam pattern. Aspiring engineering candidates should be aware of the latest examination pattern of JEE Main 2020 to secure top All India Ranks.


Here are all the important changes introduced by the NTA in the JEE Main 2020 Exam Pattern. Students are advised to go through all these changes and plan their exam preparations accordingly:


Separate test for B.Planning: This time, NTA will conduct separate exams for the candidates who wish to apply for B.Planning courses. Thus, there will be three sections in JEE Main 2020 - Paper 1 for B.Tech/ B.E., Paper 2 for B.Arch and Paper 3 for B.Planning. The students can appear for any one, or two, or all three papers, as per their choice.


The JEE Main 2020 first session will be held from January 6 to 11, 2020, while the second session will be conducted from April 3 to 9, 2020.


Paper 1 for B.E/B. Tech


From JEE Main 2020, there will be 75 questions instead of 90 in JEE Main Paper 1 for B.E / B.Tech. The number of questions in each section of paper 1 has been reduced from 30 to 25 with 20 multiple choice questions and 5 long-form questions based on numerical problems. Equal weightage will be given to all three subjects: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry

JEE Main Paper 2 for B.Arch


The JEE Main 2020 Paper 2 for B. Arch will have a total of 77 questions divided into three sections - Part I - Mathematics; Part II - Aptitude test; and Part III - Drawing Test. In the drawing test for B. Arch, which used to have three questions, now will have only 2 questions and will be conducted in Pen and Paper Based (offline) mode.

Paper 3 for B.Planning


Paper 3 in the JEE Main 2020 will be for B.Planning. It will have a total of 100 questions divided into three parts: Part I - Mathematics; Part II -Aptitude test; and Part III - Planning based questions. The JEE Main 2020 Paper 3 will carry a total of 400 marks.
